The Friendzone

Lo and behold the Friendzone! It is a gathering of men who cannot accept that dating is mostly an effect of a person’s interest and not of effort. It is a magical dimension created by the egos of those who cannot seem to grasp the fact that some people don’t have to be interested in them. In this arena, genuineness is non-existent.

Beware of the Friendzone. It stocks up bodies of nice guys who have been rejected in exchange of the bad guys. It is a place of constant query on where these people fell short. In the Friendzone, there are shattered hopes that serve as seeds of a cruel friendship. Its population consists of the boys who think they are better than anyone their subject of affection will ever date. If taken too seriously, it can qualify as a circle of hell.

Essentially, being “friendzoned” is when you exert so much effort on someone to get her affection but only gets a “We’re friends, right?” in return. As if the person is a victim of brutality and abuse, this person will throw tantrums and will grieve about the absence of romance and sex. Urban Dictionary describes the Friendzone as “one of the worst places a guy could ever be in.” Well, nobody would want to be in the Friendzone. No decent human would want to play the martyr. No decent human would look at friendship as a circle of hell.

Just because you’ve given the most attention, time and effort doesn’t mean you are the guaranteed winner. Women have the right to choose who they want to date. Most especially, do not disguise kindness with hidden intentions of boning a woman. Stop complaining about being the knight in shining armor but not being the prince. Quit whining about not getting anything in return. Women are not entitled to respond to men’s kindness with a relationship. Women do not owe you anything. Yes, rejection is not easy but comforting oneself with a lame excuse such as the Friendzone is not your best course of action.

To the nice guy who keeps on whining about the Friendzone, I hate to break this to you but grow up.
